My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone: 

Helps me to find a value on a decent wine and prods me to try new wines when they are rated high. I am usually in agreement the scale in that my opinion of a wine with a score of 87 or above is usually above average.
